Who We Are
Washington PAVE was organized in 1979 and is statewide and parent owned. PAVE was developed as a means for parents of children with all disabilities, birth through twenty-one, to have access to information, materials, and 1-1 support, as well as a united voice to improve educational and life outcomes for their children. This has led to an organization with several different programs funded through a variety of sources. PAVE has 10 offices across the state along with a cadre of specially trained volunteers in their own communities. PAVE has a strong commitment to working partnerships with educators and other professionals that enhance the parent’s role in informed decision making for their child.
The majority of Washington PAVE staff are parents who have children with special needs.
